At a State Council Information Office press conference on September 10, the deputy head of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, Cong Lin, unveiled a comprehensive strategy aimed at fostering a healthier operating environment for the financial industry.

The agency plans to guide financial institutions in establishing the right philosophy regarding performance, operations, results, and risk management. A key priority is to discourage the fixation on business scale and steer the industry away from chasing speed and size toward a model centered on quality and efficiency, thereby strengthening long-term competitive advantages.

Additionally, the regulator will intensify efforts to crack down on "price wars," improper commission rebates, and practices involving high interest rates coupled with high payouts.
