At the 2026 Leapmotor Technology Day held this evening, Zhu Jiangming, founder, chairman, and CEO of the company, took the stage to address questions surrounding the automaker's foray into embodied intelligence. He noted that many have asked why Leapmotor has yet to aggressively enter this space, pointing out that in terms of technical depth and breadth—whether through in-house efforts or its external supply chain team—the company is arguably the best positioned to thrive in the highly popular field of embodied intelligence.

However, Zhu stressed that the company's core philosophy is to avoid hyping concepts without substance. While Leapmotor has conducted a small-scale evaluation of embodied intelligence, it currently maintains a following strategy rather than a leading one. Despite this cautious approach, the company has successfully developed a fully self-researched, self-developed robot.

He shared an anecdote, revealing that "some colleagues suggested we should have our robot take a stroll at today's press conference." Zhu firmly declined, explaining that "a robot that can walk is not an achievement; only a robot that can generate revenue is something we are proud to showcase." He expressed his hope that, in the near future, the company will discover a "gold mine"—a highly practical and reliable application scenario where its robotics technology can be commercially deployed and generate tangible returns.
