A notable shift in share positioning has been recorded for YIBIN BANK (02596), according to the latest data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. On September 7, a substantial transfer of shares took place, with a combined market value of approximately HK$149 million changing hands, accounting for 8.18% of the bank's total shareholding structure.

The transaction details indicate that a shareholder moved 56.266 million shares into China Merchants Bank, while the same number of shares were simultaneously transferred out of Citibank. This reallocation of positions has drawn attention from market observers monitoring the bank's ownership dynamics.

In related developments, YIBIN BANK recently unveiled its interim results for fiscal year 2026, showcasing robust financial performance. The bank reported total operating revenue of approximately RMB 1.374 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of 17.6%. Net interest income climbed 17.5% to reach around RMB 1.099 billion, reflecting improved core lending and deposit operations.

Profit attributable to shareholders reached approximately RMB 315 million, up 10.79% from the prior corresponding period, with basic earnings per share standing at RMB 0.07. The bank attributed this profit growth to intensified efforts in acquiring high-quality clients, proactive loan deployment, and strategic adjustments to deposit benchmark rates, which collectively enhanced the asset-liability structure and drove higher net interest income. Additionally, a downward trend in bond market yields lifted valuations across various maturities, contributing to a year-on-year increase in net gains from trading activities.
