On September 3rd, Municipal Party Secretary Xie Peng conducted a dedicated inspection of forestry and water resources initiatives. At Wuxing Lake Wetland Park and the Wuxing Lake reservoir bank ecological restoration and rehabilitation project site, Xie Peng listened to reports on the leisure cultural tourism planning and the progress of key projects around the lake, offering specific guidance for the next phase of work.

He emphasized anchoring the area's positioning as the city's "reception lounge," optimizing infrastructure, improving functional amenities, and elevating service quality to better meet residents' daily leisure needs, making it a vital hub for regional tourism. He called for coordinated planning, clear designation of leading officials and responsible departments, and the development of scientific conservation and cultural tourism plans for Wuxing Lake, integrating ecological restoration with tourism development. The pace of key project construction must be accelerated to transform ecological advantages into development momentum.

The forestry department was urged to proactively seek project approvals and funding support from higher levels, ensure the routine operation and safety management of the wetland park, and organize diverse, engaging activities to make it a shared green space for the public.

At the ancient oak tree park in Zhangjiayao Village, Xie Peng inspected the tree's growing environment and structural health, inquiring about the city's overall distribution, growth status, and daily care of ancient and notable trees. He noted that these trees are irreplaceable natural heritage, stressing the need to enhance awareness, strengthen accountability, ensure funding, and continue efforts to protect and preserve them while exploring their cultural value. He called for telling their stories with dedication to safeguard the region's green historical legacy.

At the Fengbaiyu Forest Fire Prevention Checkpoint, Xie Peng reviewed the city's forest fire prevention infrastructure layout plans and details on checkpoint design and smart technology integration. He underscored a systematic approach to planning, inviting experts to help draft a comprehensive infrastructure plan. Facilities such as reservoirs, watchtowers, and firebreaks should be strategically located based on high-risk zones to build a strong defense. He also highlighted the need to combine human, physical, and technological measures, strengthen source control, enhance monitoring and early warning, and improve emergency preparedness to fully boost prevention and response capabilities, ensuring the safety of people's lives, property, and ecological resources.

At the Yaowen East Pump Station and the Rural Water Supply Service Center (Fengbaiyu Station), Xie Peng asked about the Zuncun Yellow River Water Diversion Yaowen East Area Source Replacement Project and the 2026 rural water supply maintenance and repair initiative. He stressed that water infrastructure is vital to rural revitalization and public welfare, directly impacting every household. He called for integrated planning and scientific dispatch, with canal systems built alongside the water network to meet agricultural irrigation demands. He also insisted on upholding the bottom line of drinking water safety, improving source protection, and increasing water quality testing to ensure residents have access to safe and reliable water.
