Macau's Foreign Exchange Reserves Rise to MOP 245.8 Billion at End of August

Preliminary statistics released by the Macau Monetary Authority on September 15 reveal that the total foreign exchange reserve assets of the Macao Special Administrative Region stood at MOP 245.8 billion (USD 30.44 billion) at the end of August 2026.

This figure marks an increase of 1.1% compared to the revised total of MOP 243.1 billion (USD 30.09 billion) recorded at the end of July 2026.

The total foreign exchange assets at the end of August 2026 are equivalent to approximately 11 times the currency in circulation in Macau as of the end of July 2026, or 87.8% of the Macau Pataca component of the broad money supply (M2).
