Trio Industrial Electronics Releases 2025 Sustainability Report, Sets New 2030 Climate-Related Targets

Trio Industrial Electronics (01710) published its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing progress in governance, environment, workforce and supply-chain management, while introducing near-term decarbonisation goals and expanded ESG disclosures aligned with Hong Kong Stock Exchange Appendix C2 requirements.

Key operating data • 2025 revenue: HK$0.78 billion. • Workforce: 1,072 employees across Nansha (mainland China) and Rayong (Thailand). • Customer satisfaction score: 86/100.

Environmental performance • Total greenhouse-gas emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3): 3,882.70 tCO₂e, down 13.60 % year-on-year. – Scope 1: 461.10 tCO₂e. – Scope 2: 3,397.10 tCO₂e. – Scope 3 (Categories 1, 5, 6): 90.10 tCO₂e. • GHG intensity: 0.08 tCO₂e/m² (2024: 0.10 tCO₂e/m²). • Energy consumption: 6,875 MWh; intensity down to 0.14 MWh/m² (2024: 0.164 MWh/m²). • Water consumption: 81,981 m³; intensity 1.67 m³/m² (2024: 2.25 m³/m²). • Non-hazardous waste intensity cut 20 % to 1.76 kg/m²; 43 % was recycled. • Hazardous waste: 19.64 t, intensity 0.40 kg/m². • All emissions and effluent remained within local regulatory limits; no environmental non-compliance cases were recorded.

New 2030 environmental targets (baseline 2025) • Scope 1 & 2 GHG emission intensity: –3 %. • Energy consumption intensity: –3 %. • Non-hazardous waste intensity: –3 %.

Governance and certifications • ISO 14001 (environment), ISO 45001 (OHS), ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 (quality) retained for Nansha and Rayong sites. • Industry 4.0 maturity level 1i certification maintained; Nansha also holds AEO Advanced status. • No concluded legal cases on corruption; 73 employees completed anti-corruption e-training (73 training hours). • Board established quarterly ESG oversight, integrated climate-risk scenario analysis and adopted four-pillar TCFD framework for the first time.

Workplace and social metrics • Lost-time injury rate reduced to 2.80 per 1,000 employees; zero work-related fatalities for the third consecutive year. • Average training hours per employee rose to 35.96 (2024: 17.11). • Employee turnover rate lowered to 25 % (2024: 50 %). • Community contributions included RMB5,000 each to Guangzhou Nansha District Education Foundation and Shiji Village elderly-care dinner.

Supply-chain stewardship • Active supplier base: 751 vendors across 12 jurisdictions; 80 % located in Hong Kong and mainland China. • All suppliers required to adhere to the company’s code on ethics, labour and environmental compliance; strategic partners encouraged to obtain ISO 14001 and SA8000 certifications.

Looking ahead Trio Industrial Electronics plans further investment in smart-factory upgrades and renewable-energy adoption, with the Nansha facility slated for full renewable-power transition from 1Q 2025. The Board will review ESG targets annually and explore widening KPI coverage to energy efficiency and emissions reduction as part of its ongoing climate-resilience strategy.
