The United Arab Emirates is set to invest €40 billion ($46 billion) in Germany, with the capital spanning sectors from artificial intelligence to energy and defense. This move comes as the UAE looks to strengthen its strategic partnerships across Europe.
UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Al Zeyoudi stated in an interview in Berlin on Thursday that this initiative aims to "consolidate the longstanding relationship and historical partnership" between the two nations. He noted that approximately €10 billion of the total will be directed toward Bavaria, with the remaining funds allocated to "any area where there is room for cooperation."
Al Zeyoudi emphasized the scale of the commitment, saying, "The €40 billion is just the beginning. We will be looking everywhere for major opportunities that can elevate this relationship to a new level."
