Drivers are being urged to fill up their tanks as oil prices are set to climb again, driven by a significant rally in global crude markets. The crude oil change rate has reached 5.07%, with projections indicating an increase of 260 yuan per tonne. This translates to a rise of approximately 0.20 yuan to 0.24 yuan per liter for gasoline and diesel.

This adjustment marks the 18th fuel price revision of the year, scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th at 24:00. With this change, the cumulative tally for 2024 will stand at 11 increases and 5 decreases, meaning September's pump prices will move higher after August's reductions.

According to the latest calculations, gasoline and diesel prices are expected to be raised by 160 yuan and 155 yuan per tonne, respectively. At the retail level, this will translate to an increase of approximately 0.13 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline and also for 0-diesel, while 95-octane gasoline is set to rise by around 0.14 yuan per liter. Consequently, filling a standard 50-liter tank will cost motorists an additional 6.5 to 7 yuan. Please note that the final adjustment price will be officially confirmed and announced by the National Development and Reform Commission.

For those looking to offset these higher costs, here are several practical fuel-saving tips worth keeping in mind for everyday driving.
