Gar County in the Ngari Prefecture of Tibet has officially launched a competitive allocation process for a combined wind and energy storage initiative, as announced on September 3rd.

The county's public notice outlines plans to develop a 50-megawatt wind farm, which must be paired with a grid-forming energy storage system configured to at least 20% of the installed capacity with a four-hour discharge duration.

All projects under this competitive allocation are designated as grid-connected guaranteed projects, with operational policies to be implemented in accordance with regional regulations, including a feed-in tariff set at 0.341 yuan per kilowatt-hour. Notably, consortium bids are not permitted for this project.
