During a company-hosted "Face-to-Face with Bin" event at its Shanghai Anting office on the afternoon of September 8th, NIO Inc. founder William Li projected that the penetration rate of new energy vehicles (NEVs) could surpass 70% in the fourth quarter of this year. He noted that the rate had already reached 65.2% in August, with pure electric vehicles accounting for nearly 70% of new energy sales. "It's possible that monthly pure electric penetration could hit a new record, exceeding 50% before the year ends," he added.

Li further predicts that by 2030, 90% of new car sales will be new energy vehicles, and within that category, 90% will be pure electric. "Given China's rapid infrastructure development and the accelerating pace of EV technology, this trend could arrive even earlier than expected," he said.
