Chongqing has made the first national list of model schools for law-based governance, with seven institutions selected. The Ministry of Education recently announced the inaugural roster of 275 universities and schools nationwide, with Chongqing's honorees including Chongqing University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing Vocational and Technical University of Industry, Wanzhou District Fujian Primary School, Chongqing Qiujing Middle School, Shapingba District Yanggongqiao Primary School, and Nan'an District Coral Experimental Primary School. The ballastless track for the Chengdu-Chongqing Central High-Speed Railway has been fully completed, bringing the line one step closer to opening. On September 14, at the Jingkou Jialing River Bridge construction site in Chongqing, the final section of ballastless track bed was poured, marking the completion of track work across the entire line and laying a solid foundation for its scheduled opening. Currently, subgrade, bridge, and tunnel works are largely finished, while station construction, electrical and mechanical systems, and track laying are progressing on schedule, paving the way for static inspections and joint commissioning. Once fully operational, the railway will connect with multiple lines, cutting travel time between Chongqing and Chengdu to just 50 minutes.
A series of Hongyan-themed events were held in Hami, Xinjiang, recently. Activities including the "Hongyan Spirit Shines Forever" special exhibition, "Inheriting the Hongyan Spirit and Strengthening Party Spirit - Hongyan Revolutionary Story Performances," and red-themed lecture training sessions took place to deepen exchanges and integration between Chongqing and Hami through red culture. The world's first standard for artificial intelligence combined with brain-computer interfaces has been released in China. On September 14, the National Medical Products Administration approved and issued the country's third medical device standard for brain-computer interfaces, and the first globally to adopt AI technology for processing electroencephalogram data. The new standard, effective from September 1 next year, systematically specifies technical requirements and testing methods for data collection, processing, annotation, storage, and access across the entire process, helping companies address common challenges such as inconsistent data quality control scales and non-standardized construction processes.
The 2026 National Cybersecurity Awareness Week opened on September 14 with its launch ceremony. High-frequency data shows consumer vitality continued to improve in August. Data released by the National Information Center of the National Development and Reform Commission reveals that consumer activity kept rising last month. Offline consumption payment amounts grew 2.6% year-on-year in August, up 0.4 percentage points from July and marking a second consecutive month of acceleration. The "Shouqianba" brick-and-mortar business vitality index, which reflects small and medium-sized merchant activity, stood at 83.3, up 1.7% from the previous month, with the holiday consumption activity index rising 2.9%. On the industrial front, multiple regions provided multi-point support with gradient development. In August, industrial park production heat indices in major economic provinces such as Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Fujian sustained positive growth, while Yunnan, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Guangxi posted notable year-on-year gains of 7.2%, 5.1%, 4.6%, and 4.4%, respectively.
