Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART) disclosed to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 10 September 2026 that it repurchased 353,611 ordinary shares on 9 September 2026 for cancellation, deploying GBP 8.01 million under its current buy-back mandate. The transaction, executed on the London Stock Exchange, CBOE BXE and CBOE CXE, was completed at prices ranging from GBP 22.42 to GBP 22.86 per share, with a volume-weighted average cost of GBP 22.66.
The repurchase represents 0.0162 % of STANCHART’s 2,181.43 million issued shares (excluding treasury shares) as at 8 September 2026. Including shares bought on 7 and 8 September that are still pending cancellation—361,762 and 357,230 respectively—the total number of shares awaiting cancellation stands at 1.07 million, or 0.05 % of the current share capital.
Under the authority granted at the 7 May 2026 annual general meeting, the bank can buy back up to 221.63 million shares. Cumulative purchases since that resolution have reached 33.61 million shares, equivalent to 1.52 % of the shares outstanding when the mandate was approved.
The latest buyback leaves STANCHART’s issued share count unchanged at 2,181.43 million until the repurchased shares are formally cancelled.
