More than half a year has passed since Li Hong stepped down as president of Bank Of Zhengzhou Co.,Ltd., yet the position remains unfilled. During this period, Chairman Zhao Fei has taken on the full burden of the bank's daily operational management, and he has been actively working to shore up the executive team.

It is worth noting that in 2025, the bank saw 12 directors and senior executives depart, including three presidential assistants 鈥?Li Hong, Liu Jiuqing, and Li Lei 鈥?as well as three vice presidents: Fu Chunqiao, Guo Zhibin, and Sun Haigang. Starting in 2026, Bank Of Zhengzhou Co.,Ltd. began appointing new vice presidents in succession. In February, Wang Sentao was named vice president, followed by the appointments of Gao Rui and Tang Andong in August.

Wang Sentao brings a background that includes stints at China State Shipbuilding Corporation and the Henan branch of China Development Bank, along with secondment roles as deputy director of the Fiscal, Financial, and Credit Construction Division at the Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and as deputy district mayor of Zhengzhou's Erqi District, giving him solid government experience. Gao Rui joined Bank Of Zhengzhou Co.,Ltd. in March 2025, took on the role of presidential assistant in January 2026, and has now been swiftly promoted to vice president. She is an externally recruited executive, having previously served at the Zhengzhou branch of Industrial Bank from August 2006 to March 2025. In contrast, Tang Andong is a homegrown executive who joined the bank in July 2006, holding various roles such as deputy branch manager of the Xingyang sub-branch, head of the strategic client center in the head office's corporate banking department, deputy general manager and later general manager of the corporate banking department, interim head of the Pingdingshan branch, and director of the head office general office. From December 2025 to August 2026, he also served as chairman of Xinmi Zhengyin Village and Town Bank.

New faces bring fresh ideas, and with a full roster of executives now taking their posts, the goal is to push Bank Of Zhengzhou Co.,Ltd. toward further growth. Looking at the first half of 2026, the bank's scale and profitability were both on the rise. As of the end of June 2026, total assets reached 790.7 billion yuan, up 6.32% from the end of last year, inching ever closer to the 800 billion yuan milestone. Loans and advances extended by the bank totaled 418.783 billion yuan, an increase of 2.08% from the end of the prior year.

However, the retail lending segment continued to lag. During the first half of 2026, corporate loans stood at 298.468 billion yuan, up 6.41% from the end of last year, while personal loans totaled 95.49 billion yuan, down 1.57%, primarily due to a decline in individual business loans. The retail banking arm saw a sharp drop in revenue, with retail banking income falling to 647 million yuan, a 47.6% year-on-year decrease, compared with corporate banking revenue of 4.253 billion yuan, which grew 19.93%.

On the earnings front, Bank Of Zhengzhou Co.,Ltd. reported operating revenue of 6.759 billion yuan for the first half of 2026, up 1.04% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of 1.677 billion yuan, a 3.03% increase. Revenue growth was still largely driven by traditional deposit and lending activities, as net interest income reached 5.527 billion yuan, up 3.29% year-on-year. Yet, the net interest margin narrowed to 1.52%, down 0.12 percentage points from the same period last year. Meanwhile, non-interest income fell 7.96% to 1.233 billion yuan, including a decrease in fee and commission income of 41 million yuan to 194 million yuan.

The uptick in net profit was partly aided by cost-cutting and workforce rationalization. In the first half of 2026, operating and administrative expenses declined 5.09% year-on-year to 1.393 billion yuan, with labor costs falling 9.94% to 769 million yuan. Within that, wages, bonuses, and allowances dropped 12.7% to 483 million yuan, and employee welfare expenses decreased 20.21% to 19.616 million yuan. As of the end of June 2026, Bank Of Zhengzhou Co.,Ltd. had 5,733 employees, down 319 from 6,052 at the end of last year. Based on the wage, bonus, and allowance figures, the average monthly salary per employee for the first half of 2026 works out to roughly 84,200 yuan.
