Stock Track | XPENG-W Plummets 5.04% Intraday on Robotics Executive Departure and Weak Q1 Results

Stock Track
Jun 11

XPENG-W's stock plummeted 5.04% during intraday trading on Thursday, extending recent losses for the Chinese electric vehicle maker.

The sharp decline follows the departure of a key robotics executive and disappointing first-quarter financial results. Shi Xiaoxin, the senior product planning director for XPeng's humanoid IRON robots, officially left the company in early June. His departure comes at a critical time as XPeng targets mass production of the robots by year-end, raising concerns about potential timeline disruptions.

Additionally, XPeng reported a Q1 net loss of RMB 1.78 billion, reversing the prior quarter's brief profitability. Revenue declined 17.6% year-over-year while vehicle deliveries fell 33.3% to approximately 63,000 units. In response to the executive departure, CEO He Xiaopeng announced he would personally assume leadership of the robotics business unit to drive production forward.
