On September 11, the National Development and Reform Commission announced temporary regulatory measures on domestic refined oil product prices to mitigate the impact of rising international oil prices on the domestic economy and safeguard social livelihoods, all while maintaining the existing pricing mechanism framework.

Under the current pricing system, gasoline and diesel (standard grade) prices were slated for increases of 435 yuan and 420 yuan per ton, respectively, on September 11. However, following the regulatory adjustment, actual hikes were limited to 260 yuan and 250 yuan per ton, effectively reducing the increments by 175 yuan and 170 yuan per ton.

According to estimates from JLC Network Technology, as of the tenth working day on September 11, the average price of referenced crude oil varieties stood at $94.09 per barrel, with a change rate of 7.28%.

This marks the second such intervention this year, following a similar temporary measure on March 23, when domestic gasoline and diesel price increases were cut by 1,045 yuan and 1,005 yuan per ton, respectively, amid abnormal surges in international oil prices.
