Jiangsu Province has announced the certification results for its first batch of new materials in 2026, with 60 innovative products making the cut. This marks the second large-scale recognition of advanced materials following the initial 33 products certified in 2025, signaling the province's continued push to strengthen its industrial capabilities.
The new materials certification initiative is designed to overcome key bottlenecks in the sector, such as limited availability of suitable materials, performance issues, and user hesitation. By addressing these challenges, the program aims to provide solid material support for the province's "1650" industrial system, a framework central to its manufacturing strategy.
The newly certified products are primarily targeted at high-end applications including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, aerospace, advanced equipment, new energy, and biomedicine. Among the selected items, electronic information materials account for 16 products, followed by 12 in new energy, 11 in aerospace, 7 in advanced equipment, 5 in green environmental protection, and 4 in biomedicine. Many of these products represent significant breakthroughs in variety, specifications, and technical parameters, characterized by high technological content, strong independent innovation, and substantial market potential.
Focusing on industry frontiers, the list showcases notable achievements across multiple sectors. In electronic information materials, products such as photosensitive polyimide photoresist from 艾森半导体, I-line photoresist from 博康化学, and ultra-pure electronic-grade nitric acid from 联仕新材料 are directly applied in critical stages of chip manufacturing and packaging. Additionally, electronic-grade spherical silica for advanced packaging by 锦艺新材料 and ultra-fine high-purity spherical silica for 5G by 联瑞新材料 provide foundational material support for integrated circuit packaging and 5G communications.
In the field of new displays, narrow-emission green fluorescent materials from 三月科技 and high-mobility oxide targets from 先导薄膜 are essential core materials that determine the display quality of end products. For aerospace materials, products like difficult-to-deform large-size bars and wrought superalloy bars from 隆达超合金, powder superalloy parts for aircraft engines from 航发优材, and metal powders for selective laser melting by 威拉里 achieve breakthroughs across multiple technical routes. Furthermore, high-strength, high-modulus, and high-toughness carbon fiber from 中复神鹰 and HM43-12K carbon fiber along with prepregs for low-altitude flying vehicles from 恒神股份 highlight the broad application prospects of carbon fiber in aviation and low-altitude economy scenarios.
New energy materials also feature prominently, with high-performance second-generation high-temperature superconducting tapes for controlled nuclear fusion from 东部超导, high-purity niobium materials from 美特林科, and high-performance carbon fiber epoxy composites from 澳盛复材 serving wind power large-scale trends. The power battery sector benefits from products such as single-walled carbon nanotube conductive agents from 天奈科技, high-reliability insulation protective composite films from 赛伍技术, and ceramic fiber aerogel insulation felts from 珈云新材料, all crucial for the development of power batteries and new energy storage. Products must also possess independent intellectual property rights, demonstrate technical maturity, reliable quality, and have favorable economic and social benefits with market prospects. All performance technical indicators must be verified by third-party product quality inspection institutions approved by provincial or higher-level market supervision departments, further strengthening product reliability and alleviating user concerns about adoption.
To accelerate the industrialization and application of these new materials, Jiangsu has implemented a comprehensive policy package. This includes incorporating first-batch new materials into government procurement policies for technological innovation and exploring a due diligence exemption mechanism within provincial state-owned enterprises. In bidding and tendering, these materials can be deemed to meet market share requirements upon providing relevant certification documents. Financial support includes provincial special funds for innovation consortia developing first-batch new materials and related pilot platform construction, while the provincial strategic emerging industry mother fund will actively invest in application projects. Moving forward, the provincial industry and information technology department will continue leveraging the guiding role of the certification to clear critical obstacles in the journey from R&D breakthroughs to scene applications, enabling more innovative materials to transition from laboratories to the industrial frontline, thereby strengthening the supply chain and supporting high-quality manufacturing development across the province.
