Enhancing the Development of Regional Public Brands for Agricultural Products

Regional public brands for agricultural products serve as a vital catalyst for advancing rural industrial revitalization and achieving high-quality agricultural development. In recent years, various regions have actively cultivated these brands by leveraging their distinctive agricultural resources. However, a persistent challenge remains in brand development: there is often excessive focus on brand creation and promotion, while operational management and quality control receive insufficient attention.

To address this, it is recommended that a comprehensive management framework for regional public agricultural brands be established, anchored in four key principles: unified brand architecture, standardized quality control measures, integrated service platforms, and coordinated channel governance. This framework should clearly define responsibilities, ensure standardized administration, and facilitate efficient operation. By coordinating top-level brand planning, a tiered brand system can be developed, encompassing provincial public brands, geographical indication products, and private enterprise brands. This approach clarifies the functional positioning, market entry criteria, and collaborative mechanisms across different brand levels, thereby consolidating efforts toward a cohesive brand strategy.

Furthermore, it is essential to improve the brand standard system that covers the entire value chain, including cultivation environments, production and processing, packaging, storage, and transportation. Differentiated quality assessment indicators should be formulated for products with distinct regional characteristics. A management mechanism should be implemented, incorporating unified testing standards, centralized authorization, and regular sampling reviews. To ensure these standards are effectively applied, standardized production training should be provided to businesses and producers, and core production areas should be encouraged to establish demonstration bases for standardized practices.

Elevating the level of professional brand management is equally critical. This can be achieved by integrating existing resources in e-commerce, traceability, and regulatory oversight to develop a digital public service platform that combines brand presentation, product promotion, quality tracking, and complaint handling. A brand advisory team, composed of experts in agricultural industry, brand strategy, e-commerce operations, and legal rights protection, should be assembled to offer professional guidance to relevant institutions and enterprises. Additionally, guidance for after-sales service for public brands should be formulated, along with a streamlined channel for the rapid resolution of consumer disputes.

Finally, robust risk prevention and crisis management mechanisms must be established. Routine monitoring should be conducted on live-streaming content, product descriptions, transaction data, and customer feedback related to public brand products. Early warnings and coordinated actions should be triggered to address violations such as false advertising and the substitution of inferior goods. A well-defined crisis emergency response system should be developed, specifying the responsible parties and procedures for each stage, including media monitoring, information assessment, emergency response, synchronized public communication, and post-incident recovery.
