Kanzhun Limited has reshuffled its senior management, naming Chief Technology Officer Tao Zhang as Rotating President with effect from 1 September 2026. Zhang’s rotational term runs through 31 August 2027.
Xu Chen, who previously held the President post, stepped down on the same date and has resumed his former position as Chief Marketing Officer while continuing to serve as an executive director.
Zhang, aged 44, has served as Kanzhun’s CTO since the company’s inception and joined the board in May 2021, later becoming an executive director in December 2022. He oversees research, development and IT infrastructure and brings more than 19 years of software engineering and internet industry experience, including roles at IBM, Renren and Baidu.
The leadership rotation is part of Kanzhun’s stated objective to enhance governance and organizational efficiency. Zhang will continue to report directly to founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peng Zhao.
Following the change, Kanzhun’s board comprises five executive directors (Peng Zhao, Tao Zhang, Xu Chen, Yang Mu and Xiehua Wang), one non-executive director (Haiyang Yu) and three independent non-executive directors (Yonggang Sun, Yan Li and Hongyu Liu).
