China's Finance Ministry to Issue 300 Billion Yuan in Special Bonds to Boost Capital for Eight State-Owned Financial Firms

The Ministry of Finance will issue special treasury bonds totaling 300 billion yuan in the near term, aimed at replenishing the core Tier 1 capital of eight central financial enterprises.

On September 6, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Export-Import Bank of China, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, PICC, China Life Insurance Group, China Taiping, and China Reinsurance Group unveiled their respective capital increase plans.

Industry insiders have pointed out that this capital injection by the Ministry of Finance represents a forward-looking and precautionary move, reflecting proactive efforts to support the high-quality development of central financial enterprises and to bolster the stability of the broader macroeconomy.
