Next-Generation iPhone 18 Pro Expected to Feature a Slimmer Dynamic Island for Triple Live-Activity Display

According to Bloomberg, Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro will feature a slimmer Dynamic Island capable of showcasing more live activities than the current iPhone 17 Pro. Mark Gurman reports that both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be equipped with this new, refined and compact Dynamic Island, allowing users to switch between three live tasks displayed simultaneously at the top of the screen.

Previously, the Dynamic Island could only show up to two live activities at a time, a design element that has persisted since the debut of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in 2022. Gurman also noted that the external design of the iPhone 18 Pro series will closely mirror the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, with the exception of a new burgundy color option that replaces the previously popular Space Orange. Other reports suggest that sky blue and silver variants may also be introduced.

Under the hood, hardware upgrades are expected to include a new A20 Pro chip built on TSMC's 2-nanometer process, improved battery life, a redesigned vapor chamber cooling system, and a physically adjustable aperture lens. This advanced lens is designed to deliver more precise depth-of-field effects and enhanced low-light photography capabilities, although the feature may be exclusive to the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max model.

Apple's autumn new product launch event is scheduled to kick off at 1 a.m. Beijing time tomorrow, with comprehensive live coverage to follow.
