1 Millisecond! Yanjiao to Haidian: Data Transmission Achieves New Collaborative Speed

A one-hour commute by car, yet just 1 millisecond for data transfer. This is the new benchmark set between Langfang's Yanjiao and Beijing's Haidian district, as highlighted by Wang Xinzheng, Chairman and General Manager of Qishang Online (Beijing) Data Technology Co., Ltd., at the Photon No. 1 Financial Computing Center in Yanjiao High-tech Zone, Sanhe City.

Qishang Online specializes in computing power supply and supporting services. The Financial Computing Center, its first in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, was completed and operational in 2023. It stands as Hebei Province's only computing center project approved under a financial-grade blockchain framework. Currently, 4,500 standard cabinets are in use, providing 1,500P of computing power.

Meanwhile, at the R&D laboratory of Tongzhi Artificial Intelligence Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., the constant clatter of keyboards fills the air as code scrolls rapidly across screens. Two algorithm engineers are fine-tuning the "Tongzhi Brain" large model, designed for embodied robots. This model handles AI reasoning, command issuance, and motion control, enabling physical interactions like grasping, walking, and environmental adaptation, and is compatible with robots from Unitree, Songyan, Leju, and others. A R&D leader at Tongzhi stated, "We focus on optimizing sample cleaning, parameter tuning, and inference chain compression. In the future, we aim to make significant strides in education, elderly care, and intelligent manufacturing."

After optimizing the perception module code, an engineer clicks the mouse, sending training commands to the Photon No. 1 Financial Computing Center. The center's data rooms and the "Tongzhi Brain" model immediately begin synchronized operation.

Wang Xinzheng explained, "We allocate dedicated physical zones for Beijing clients, enabling intelligent computing scheduling with multi-route protection. This opens a high-speed corridor for cross-provincial computing power relay, achieving true 'single-point access, instant use' of resources." Within that single millisecond, commands from Tongzhi traverse dedicated fiber optics to the center, with training data and results returning, completing a cross-regional computing "handshake" between Beijing and Hebei.

The R&D leader added, "With a latency under one millisecond, computing power is available on demand and at a lower cost." This setup has cut R&D costs by about 20% and shortened model iteration cycles by 40% for the company.

In the computing power arena, milliseconds translate into efficiency and competitive advantage. Wang Xinzheng noted, "The core consideration for siting the center was low data latency, which requires close proximity. Yanjiao, right next to Beijing, offers a distinct geographic edge." From site selection and approval to construction, local governments in Langfang and Sanhe provided full-process support, offering policy guidance and resolving bottlenecks. The 150,000-square-meter center was completed and put into operation in just 18 months.

"Yanjiao is separated from Beijing by just a river. Besides commuting convenience, electricity is cheaper, saving about 30% on power costs," Wang Xinzheng said. Since its launch, the center has expanded from basic computing capacity to AI services and data element trading, building a closed loop of "computing + data + applications" to absorb spillover demand from Beijing in AI, industrial simulation, and fintech. In fintech, it ensures millisecond-level responses for high-frequency trading; in industrial simulation, it facilitates smooth operation of complex models.

The data monitoring hall displays real-time fluctuations in computing load and resource allocation. The center now hosts nearly 100 computing-requiring enterprises, over 90% from Beijing, operating near full capacity and truly achieving "physically in Hebei, serving Beijing."

Outside the machine rooms, technicians monitor equipment. "If any fault is hard to solve on-site, Beijing's expert teams can arrive within an hour or two," Wang Xinzheng added, noting that this "same-city" maintenance model has eased concerns among Beijing clients about cross-provincial deployment.

As a primary destination for Beijing's data center industry relocation, Langfang now operates 36 data centers with 551,300 standard cabinets, ranking first nationally in the city computing power sub-index for two consecutive years. The city is deepening its computing power investment strategy, attracting chip design, packaging, testing, and terminal manufacturing firms, while collaborating with Zhangjiakou and Xiong'an to build the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Computing Corridor."

Building on its location advantage, Qishang Online is investing further to develop a tiered computing supply structure. The second phase of the Financial Computing Center is about to break ground, expanding capacity even more. "Within one millisecond, we will facilitate even more virtual collaborations between Beijing and Hebei," Wang Xinzheng said, expressing strong confidence in future growth.
