Origin Energy Marks Completion of Victoria Battery Energy Storage System

Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) marked the official completion of the Mortlake Battery Energy Storage System at the Mortlake Power Station in Victoria after nearly two years of construction, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The company approved a AU$400 million investment in the Mortlake battery, with construction starting in August 2024.

The project also secured conditional grant funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, per the statement.

Origin Energy shares fell 1% in morning trade on Friday.
