Hong Kong stocks fell at the start of Tuesday's trading session, following renewed tensions between the U.S. and Iran, which have revived higher oil prices and inflation fears.

The Hang Seng Index shed 0.6%, or 151 points, to 25,415.72. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index also lost 0.6%, or nearly 54 points, to 8,459.32.

The U.S. conducted fresh airstrikes on Iran's Larak island, resuming military hostilities that had not occurred since late July. In response, Iran attacked American bases in Jordan.
