On September 1, at the G20 Finance Ministers Meeting in Asheville, President Donald J. Trump said the conversations were "very productive and positive." He praised North Carolina as a "GREAT State" and criticized former President Joe Biden for turning his back on the state after Hurricane Helene.

Trump stated that as soon as he came into office, he worked hard and got everything done in record time, adding that he never forgot North Carolina and never will. He noted winning the state three times and thanked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for "working hard for us, and doing a fantastic job representing the U.S.A."
