Zhihu (ZH) has agreed to commit 1.5 billion Chinese renminbi ($223.5 million) in cash to an artificial intelligence-focused investment fund, the company said Sunday.

Under the proposed transaction, Zhihu will subscribe for a limited partnership interest of up to 30%, through its wholly owned subsidiary, in Tianjin Lisi Xingshen Equity Investment Partnership, it said.

The blind pool fund will invest in early- to mid-stage unlisted companies in AI and related technology sectors in mainland China, with investment targets yet to be determined, the company said.

Zhihu shares were 2.1% higher in Tuesday premarket trading.
