President Donald Trump posted on social media platform X on September 4, commenting on the August jobs report. Trump claimed the numbers "broke all estimates (except mine!)" and argued that the U.S. economy is strong enough to warrant lower interest rates.

"Great jobs number just announced, breaking all estimates (except mine!) by double and triple - And you haven’t seen anything yet! EMPLOYERS ADDED 162,000 JOB IN AUGUST. Lower the interest rates because the U.S.A. is a much stronger credit than it was just a short time ago!" Trump wrote. He added that the U.S. should have "the LOWEST RATE of any country in the World, like 'the old days.'"

Trump threatened to stop trading with countries where the U.S. has a trade deficit if interest rates are not lowered. "LOWER THE RATE OR I’LL STOP TRADING WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH WE HAVE A DEFICIT, which the U.S. Supreme Court, in its ridiculous and very costly Tariff decision, strongly acknowledged 'the President' has an absolute right to do," he wrote. "IT’S BETTER THAN TARIFFS!"

The President called on the Federal Reserve Board and its new leader to "get smart - BE PATRIOTS for a change," warning that high interest rates put the U.S. at a "very unfair disadvantage" that he would not allow.
