Venture Global (VG), Cheniere Energy (LNG), and Woodside Energy Group (WDS) are included in a group of companies that are in talks with QatarEnergy for liquefied natural gas contracts aimed at replacing capacity in the Ras Laffan facility damaged by Iranian attacks, Reuters reported Friday, citing three trading and industry sources.

QatarEnergy is targeting to secure multi-year US LNG contracts through 2031 to replace volumes lost due to the Iranian attacks, according to the report.

State-owned QatarEnergy, which stopped production in March, has renewed force majeure notices monthly, with the most recent extension into November, the report said.

Venture Global, Cheniere, Woodside, and QatarEnergy did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
