Stocks in Singapore slipped Thursday, as the FTSE Straits Times Index fell 0.7% to 5689.75.
Among local companies with a market cap of at least 1 billion Singapore dollars ($790.3 million), Bumitama Agri was the biggest laggard, declining 3.4%, followed by shares of Centurion Corp, which fell 3.2%. Shares of Keppel fell 2.8%.
AEM SGD was the biggest leader during the session, surging 5.2%, and Hutchison Port Hldgs Tr jumped 2.5%. Riverstone Holdings rounded out the top three movers, as shares gained 1.2%.
On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index added 0.1% to 94.92. The U.S. dollar strengthened 0.1% against the Singapore dollar to S$1.27.
In the bond markets, the 10-year Singaporean government bond yield increased 3.5 basis points to 2.405%.
