JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM) has ended its lending relationship with Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness hedge fund after losses tied to its AI bets, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday.
Situational Awareness was forced to sell most of its public-equities portfolio to Citadel after a selloff in global chip stocks hit its leveraged positions, Reuters said. JPMorgan was one of the fund's top lenders.
Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Bank of America remain active brokers to Situational Awareness, the report said. The Financial Times first reported JPMorgan's decision, Reuters said.
JPMorgan did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
