Pan African Resources (ASX:PAF) completed the definitive feasibility study for the Soweto tailings retreatment project, evaluating the construction of a 600,000 tonnes-per-month operation, located adjacent to the group's Mogale tailings retreatment operations in South Africa, according to a Friday ASX filing.

The study showed annual gold production of 35,000 ounces to 40,000 ounces from Soweto, with life-of- mine production of around 561,000 ounces over a 15-year project life. Life-of-mine all-in sustaining cost came in at around $1,750 per ounce to $1,800 per ounce, excluding cost savings from renewable energy supply.

The study's value-engineered project capital estimate was around 3.68 billion South African Rand.

The Soweto cluster tailings storage facilities include mineral reserves of around 108 million tonnes at 0.28 grams per tonne, containing approximately 980,000 ounces of gold.
