IBEX Fiscal Q4 2026 Earnings: Revenue Growth Came with Margin Pressure

IBEX (Nasdaq: IBEX) reported fiscal Q4 2026 revenue of $164.3 million, up 11.6% year over year, while GAAP diluted EPS fell 11.3% to $0.59 from $0.66. Net income and adjusted EBITDA both declined despite double-digit revenue growth, as training for new client wins and the temporary transfer of work from nearshore to offshore delivery centers pressured margins. Operating cash flow was $24.8 million, with free cash flow of $21.7 million.

Core Financial Results

The quarter ended June 30, 2026, marked IBEX’s sixth consecutive quarter of double-digit revenue growth. However, profit conversion weakened: GAAP net income fell 8.8%, while non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA slipped 1.3% and its margin contracted by 160 basis points.

Management attributed the margin pressure primarily to training costs associated with new clients and temporary inefficiencies as work moved between delivery regions.

The full-year results were stronger than the fourth-quarter profit trend. Fiscal 2026 revenue increased 15.4% to $644.1 million, net income rose 25.7% to $46.3 million, and diluted EPS advanced 32.8% to $3.13. Full-year adjusted EBITDA increased 14.5% to $82.4 million, although its margin was nearly flat at 12.8% versus 12.9%.

Business and Vertical Performance

Growth was broad across the four verticals for which IBEX disclosed quarterly rates. HealthTech led with 42.3% growth, followed by Technology at 27.4%, Travel, Transportation and Logistics at 17.8%, and Retail and E-Commerce at 7.0%. The company also cited accelerating growth in its Wave iX solutions.

IBEX secured nine new client wins during the quarter, including two strategic AI Agent wins. Management said the company has completed more than 10 AI Agent implementations across five verticals and highlighted its partnership with conversational AI provider Sierra. IBEX did not quantify the revenue or profit contribution from these implementations.

Client Ramps Lifted Revenue but Compressed Q4 Margins

Cost of services increased to $117.3 million from $100.9 million, an increase of about 16%, outpacing the 11.6% rise in revenue. Consequently, operating income declined to $9.8 million from $12.3 million even as the top line reached a quarterly record.

The company linked this divergence to training expenses for new client wins and the temporary impact of transferring work from nearshore to offshore delivery centers. The distinction matters because IBEX said higher-margin offshore growth benefited its full-year net income, while the transition process itself created pressure in Q4. Evidence that these costs are temporary—and that margins stabilize as new programs mature—will be an important operating indicator in fiscal 2027.

Stock-based compensation also increased to $3.3 million from $1.9 million in the quarter. This contributed to the difference between the 8.8% decline in GAAP net income and the relatively flat adjusted net income of $12.7 million.

Profitability, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet

Quarterly operating cash flow declined to $24.8 million from $27.9 million, but remained well above net income. Free cash flow was $21.7 million after $3.2 million of capital expenditures, compared with $22.8 million a year earlier after $5.2 million of capital expenditures.

For the full year, operating cash flow increased to $59.0 million from $45.7 million, partly offset by greater use of working capital. Annual free cash flow rose to $31.2 million from $27.3 million even as capital expenditures increased to $27.8 million from $18.4 million. IBEX attributed the higher investment to offshore expansion and purchases of IT and telecommunications equipment.

At June 30, 2026, IBEX had $32.6 million of cash and $1.7 million of debt, resulting in net cash of $30.9 million, up from $13.7 million one year earlier. The company also repurchased 0.1 million shares for $4.3 million during Q4 at an average price of $29.83.

Fiscal 2027 Guidance

IBEX introduced initial guidance for both fiscal 2027 and its first quarter. The full-year revenue range implies growth of 9% to 11%, below fiscal 2026’s 15.4% rate, while first-quarter guidance calls for another period of double-digit revenue growth.

Period and MetricLatest GuidanceImplied Year-over-Year Growth
Fiscal 2027 revenue$700 million-$715 million9%-11%
Fiscal 2027 adjusted EBITDA$90 million-$94 million9%-14%
Fiscal 2027 capital expenditures$25 million-$30 millionNot provided
Fiscal Q1 2027 revenue$168 million-$170 million11%-12%
Fiscal Q1 2027 adjusted EBITDA$22 million-$23 million13%-18%

The company expects its balance sheet and cash generation to support capacity expansion and further investment in AI-enabled offerings. Because adjusted EBITDA is a non-GAAP measure, IBEX did not provide a reconciliation of the forward guidance to a comparable GAAP measure.

Risks Investors Need to Monitor

  • Margin normalization: Training expenses and delivery-center transfers caused revenue growth to outpace profit growth in Q4. Extended onboarding or migration costs could delay a recovery in margins.
  • Slower full-year revenue growth: Fiscal 2027 revenue guidance calls for 9% to 11% growth, representing a moderation from fiscal 2026’s 15.4% increase.
  • Execution on offshore expansion: IBEX is investing in offshore capacity while transferring work between regions. Disruptions or underutilized capacity could affect profitability and cash returns on those investments.
  • Unquantified AI contribution: AI Agent wins and implementations are increasing, but the company has not disclosed their specific revenue, margin, or cash-flow contribution.
  • Investment and working-capital demands: Higher capital expenditures and increased working-capital use could limit free cash flow if operating growth does not offset those requirements.

Summary

IBEX delivered another quarter of double-digit revenue growth, led by HealthTech, Technology, and other expanding verticals, but training and delivery-transition costs prevented that growth from reaching the bottom line. Cash generation and the net-cash balance provide capacity for continued investment, while fiscal 2027 guidance points to sustained but slower full-year revenue growth. The central issue ahead is whether new-client ramps, offshore expansion, and AI implementations can translate into renewed margin expansion.
