Sysco is launching a $500 million AI-powered efficiency program that the food distributor believes will contribute to stronger-than-expected earnings through fiscal 2029.
Sysco on Wednesday said the AI program, which incorporates the $100 million of improvements the Houston company announced last month as part of its fiscal 2027 guidance, will help remove structural costs and targets areas such as supply-chain productivity and automation across merchandising and procurement.
Sysco reaffirmed its adjusted per-share growth guidance of 9% to 11% for fiscal 2027 and said it is now targeting the same growth rate in fiscal 2028 and fiscal 2029, up from a prior growth forecast of 6% to 8% for those years.
