Aehr Poised for AI-Driven Inflection as Rising Chip Value Raises Cost of Late Failures, Oppenheimer Says

Aehr Test Systems (AEHR) is positioned for an artificial intelligence-driven inflection as rising chip power and package value increases the cost of late failures, Oppenheimer said in a Thursday note.

The company's package-level burn-in platform Sonoma is ramping manufacturing with a leading hyperscaler through a record $41 million order, while its wafer-level burn-in platform FOX-XP recently entered high-volume manufacturing with a major AI processor, including a $22 million follow-on, according to the note.

Oppenheimer said that in the near-term, it expects fiscal Q2 2027 revenue of $43.7 million, exceeding the $37 million consensus forecast, with H1 revenue slated to be $70.9 million versus the Wall Street estimate of $63 million, on account of Sonoma backlog.

"Longer term, FOX can step-function higher, as wafer volume and burn-in intensity rise, particularly if the second AI processor moves into [high-volume manufacturing]," Oppenheimer said.

Oppenheimer initiated coverage on the company with an outperform rating and a $120 price target.
