Saudi Underlying Inflation Eases Further in August

1317 GMT - Saudi Arabia's underlying inflation pressures are even softer than the headline rate suggests, Emirates NBD says. The bank's 10% trimmed-mean inflation measure falls to 1.4% in August from 1.6% in July, while monthly headline inflation slows to 0.1% from 0.2% in each of the previous four months. The divergence from the 1.8% annual headline rate indicates that price increases are concentrated in a relatively small number of heavily weighted components rather than reflecting broad-based inflation, the bank says.
