JPMorgan (JPM) is set to launch its frontier market local-currency government bond index by the end of September, Reuters reported Monday, citing a JPMorgan note to investors.

The new benchmark will be called "GBI-EM Edge" and will cover bonds from 26 countries, including Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, according to the report.

The index will include bonds of $250 million equivalent or above, which must have at least 2.5 years left to maturity and carry maximum weighting of 8%, Reuters said.

JPMorgan did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
