Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI and Amazon (AMZN)-backed Anthropic generated $40 billion and $65 billion in annual recurring revenue, respectively, far outpacing major Chinese AI companies, CNBC reported Thursday, citing estimates from US-based research firm Rhodium Group.
Combined ARR for China's leading AI models was about 10% of the revenue reported by the two US firms, it said.
DeepSeek's ARR was estimated at $500 million, followed by MiniMax at $800 million, Moonshot at $1 billion and Z.ai at $1.80 billion, it added.
ByteDance and Alibaba had $4 billion and $2.40 billion, respectively, according to the Rhodium report.
OpenAI and Anthropic did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
